Pakistanis selling ICs?? YAU MOU GAU....CHOR!!

PETALING JAYA: Syndicates, believed to be run by Pakistanis, have been selling forged Malaysian identity cards to their countrymen.
The modus operandi of the syndicates is simple – Pakistanis come to Malaysia on tourist visas with a validity of up to 90 days. They then obtain fake identity cards from the syndicates.
Immigration sources said Pakistanis often sold all their valuables to raise enough money to obtain an identity card so that they could work and do business here.
One of the syndicates operating in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor is also said to be using Malaysia as a transit point for human trafficking.
Sources said securing a forged identity card was “quite easy” and the asking fee was at least RM10,000 – up from the RM5,000 charged previously.
They said the syndicates would just take one set of thumbprints and then get five forged identity cards to distribute to those who paid for them.
“However, there is no guarantee that everyone who paid the money would get an identity card immediately.
“Some may have to wait some years and still not get one,” they added.
Immigration sources said that Pakistanis also used the forged identity cards to apply for Malaysian passports and travel to their dream destinations – countries in Europe – where they would eventually stay and work illegally.
They said the Malaysian passports was much sought after as it was easier to enter these countries with the document.
“Some Pakistanis also pay for a passport because they may have overstayed on their travel visa,” said the sources.
It is not known how much is paid to secure a Malaysian passport.
It is learnt that the authorities are tracing the syndicates' pattern of operation.
A Home Ministry source said they were also checking on claims that the syndicates had even operated in Sabah.
“The Home Ministry takes the allegations seriously as we want only bona fide foreigners to work here.
“We are also concerned about safeguarding national security,” he added.
