Proton may post huge loss for Q2??? YAU MOU GAU....CHOR!!

PROTON Holdings Bhd may post a staggering pre-tax loss of some RM700 million for the second quarter, caused mainly by red ink at its overseas subsidiary MV Agusta, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer, an industry source said. It was just two months ago that the national carmaker had surprised investors with a first-quarter net loss of RM12.4 million, a result caused by provisions or money set aside to cover debts that may not be recovered. Why PROTON's profit has dropped nearly 1/2 compare to year 2003 starting from year 2004? Due to the launched of GEN 2? or buying Problems company like MV and Lotus?

Actually, PROTON is owning two branded company where both are one of the TOP BRAND of Sports cars and motorbikes in the world. I'm strongly believed that, they have the engineering skills and not only legendary tales. I guess propably the marketing and management failures are more likely to be the caused of PROTON loses.

KUALA LUMPUR: A controversial video footage showing a woman in uniform instructing a Chinese-looking naked woman to do ear squats caused an uproar after it was made public yesterday.
Police have now started investigations and have lodged a report on their own.
Ministers and MPs expressed disgust with the way the naked woman was treated after they were shown the clip by Seputeh MP Teresa Kok at Parliament House yesterday.
The video clearly shows the woman standing naked in a room with some lockers to her right. The woman in uniform can be heard telling the woman in Bahasa Malaysia to pull her ears, squat
and stand up. The naked woman did 10 ear squats.


The 70-second video clip is said to have been taken using a cellphone and has been widely circulated through the multimedia messaging service (MMS) over the past few days. Full news click on the title.

Mitsubishi UFJ chalks up record profit??? YAU MOU GAU....CHOR!!

TOKYO, Thurs: Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), the world’s biggest bank born of a merger last month, reported today the largest net profit for any Japanese company at 711.8 billion yen (100 yen = RM3.18) in its maiden results.

A year ago, Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group and UFJ had a combined loss of 502.6 billion yen as UFJ fell deep into the red because of bad loans. For the six months to September, net profit at Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group alone rose to just over 300 billion yen from 172 billion yen a year earlier. UFJ made a profit of 411 billion yen against a year-earlier loss of around 674 billion yen. For the merged entity, the results top the 570.5 billion yen made by Toyota Motor in the same period, stealing the carmaker’s crown for the biggest profits for a Japanese company. — AFP

Girl, 5, survives 12-floor fall??? YAU MOU GAU...CHOR!!

PENANG: A five-year-old girl who fell 12 floors from a condominium unit and survived is proof that miracles do happen.

V. Smeeha landed on trees fringing the 30-storey building in U-Garden, Minden Heights. The branches broke her fall, saving her life.

All she suffered was a fractured arm and leg, and bruises and scratches on her face and body.

Her policeman father Asst Supt S. Vijaya Rao, 42, said Smeeha had accidentally locked herself in the master bedroom's en suite bathroom and was probably looking for a way out.


“She must have stood on the toilet bowl to climb out of the window, thinking that that was the way back into the room,” he said about the 11.30am incident yesterday.

“My wife realised she was missing and went to look for her. When she found the toilet door locked, she opened it with the key. She looked out of the window and saw Smeeha on the ground below among some shrubs.” Full news click the title.

PUTRAJAYA: Proton’s latest model, the Chancellor, will make its debut at the Asean Summit from Dec 12 to 14.
The executive class sedan will be made available to the public from Dec 15.
The cars were among 295 Proton cars which were handed over by Proton chairman Datuk Mohammed Azlan Hashim to Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar yesterday to be used by the delegates.
There are altogether 40 units of the Chancellor, 163 of the Waja and 92 of the Perdana V6.

Her mother Jenny Ong, 45, said she might give her daughter a big ang pow for being among the top 35 UPSR students in the state.
Chan’s classmate Tan Lun Yin, who also scored 7As, said any reward would have to depend on her parents’ budget.
“My parents constantly remind me not to be lazy and to do my revision daily,” she said. Another 7As achiever, Ong Hooi Yee, said in between revision she would relax by watching Chinese movies starring her favourite star Andy Lau.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur Hospital was shaken by news that an orang minyak (oily man) was on the prowl, after a nurse was abducted, raped at knifepoint and left naked and bound on the roof of the nurses hostel. The 30-year-old nurse was asleep at 2am yesterday when a man, his face smeared with grease, broke into her room and threatened her at knifepoint. “The intruder broke the window pane, put his hand inside and undid the latch to let himself in,” said city deputy CID chief Asst Comm Ramli Din. He said the man then brandished a knife and ordered the woman to get onto the roof of the nurses' hostel block.

THE 15%-30% pay cut that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has suggested for its senior managers is not going to save the airline millions of ringgit or give a major boost to the national carrier’s bottom line.
This is because the number of senior executives involved is said to be about only 10. But, according to an industry source, the move does send a strong signal to all employees that the culture is moving towards performance and there is little room for those who have become “too comfortable and not doing their bit for the airline’’.

MAS passenger yields per revenue per kilometre is 18.5 sen, that of rival Singapore Airlines (SIA) is 23.2 sen; Thai International 27.1 sen and Cathay Pacific 23.3 sen. There is much room for yields to grow and MAS should stop flying to areas where yields are low and concentrate on areas where it can get higher yields, said an expert.

In terms of costs, fuel cost is beyond its control but what it can do is manage its hedging policy better. To the expert, if AirAsia, Cathay and SIA can do it, what is stopping MAS?

The couple then cut a seven-tiered wedding cake and donated RM50,000 to seven organisations.

Chung, who has released two Mandarin albums, has sung for charity and was reported to have raised some RM500,000 for orphanages, single mothers associations and other worthy organisations.
A third album is said to be on the cards.

Anti graft campaign to be permanent feature in police force

KUALA LUMPUR: Policemen must now wear button badges with the words Saya anti-rasuah (I'm against graft) inscribed on them or face the wrath of the top brass.
This is part of a campaign to wipe out corruption in the police force.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Musa Hassan said disciplinary action would be taken against any police personnel who failed to pin the button badge above his or her nametag. “All police contingents have been issued with the button badges, as well as car stickers with words Lapor Jika Ada Rasuah (Report if there is corruption) for Mobile Patrol Vehicles. “With the badges and stickers prominently visible, we hope the public will not be party to corrupt practices,” he said. He said all state and district police contingents were also provided with four types of banners – Polis Bermaruah Tanpa Rasuah (Honourable police above corruption), Jangan Memberi Dan Menerima Rasuah (Don’t give and take bribes), Rasuah Polis? Anda Akan Didakwa (Bribe the police? You will be prosecuted) and Rasuah Membawa Padah (Corruption does not pay).
